Sedation

We know… no one likes the injections at our office. You are a pretty sick individual if you do enjoy them. We do not want to experience anything uncomfortable when we are patients in the chair and we apply that same understanding while working with our patients. Dr. Erickson has perfected a technique that greatly minimizes the discomfort during injections.  In most cases, people tell us that they did not feel a thing during the injection. In fact, we often have young kids walk out of the office admonishing their parents saying, “I thought you said I was going to get a shot! Why did you freak me out like that?” They do not even realize that they had an injection.

For those patients who suffer from dental a higher level of anxiety, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation.

Nitrous oxide sedation is administered in the office via a mask worn over your nose during treatment. The gas will help ease your worries and help you drift peacefully while we take care of your dental needs. It will not knock you out, but it will make the dental procedure less intimidating. The beauty of nitrous oxide is that it has a quick onset and a quick offset. You do not need anyone to bring you or take you home. You will be able to drive shortly after having nitrous oxide sedation.
