DENTAL SEALANTS

Dental sealants, also known as Pit and Fissure Sealants, are a thin layer of protective and preventive material that is placed on top of teeth to help avoid cavities in the grooves of the teeth.  It is difficult for many people to keep these grooves clean because the grooves are too deep and well developed for their toothbrush to clean properly.  Sealants are easy to place, do not require any numbing, and are very superficial.  They help fill in the grooves so that your brush can clean the teeth more easily and thoroughly.  They are a great preventive measure for most children as well as adults.
